James Allen Rutherford

RUTHERFORD


James Allen Rutherford, age 80, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born to parents Bill and Mamie Rutherford on February 09, 1932 in Cleveland, Texas and a lifetime resident. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He was a freight operator for Yellow Freight and retired after many years of services. He loved the Lord and was a Deacon at Pin Oak Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Tarkington Prairie Masonic Lodge #498. His passion was hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Joe Neiderhofer; and both parents Bill and Mamie Rutherford.
Survivors include his daughter Kayla Rutherford and husband Jason Johnson; sons Derrick Rutherford and Hoby Rutherford; sister Bettie Groce; brother Billy Rutherford; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and faithful friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. George Hayden will preside over funeral services being held Thursday, March 22, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Pin Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers include Billy Rutherford, Chip Green, Jay Groce, Brandon Green, Jim Steede, Clayton LaBuff, Jason Johnson, and Cody Barton.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Pin Oak Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 1984 CR 381, Cleveland, Texas 77328.
