J.B. McKinney, 67, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Eastgate. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
J.B. was born June 23, 1949 in Smiley, to parents; Curtis and Ellen Brister McKinney, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. He was a graduate of Barbers Hill High School, class of 1967. J.B. had been employed by Stoesser Farms and contracted at Exxon through Pala Interstate. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. J.B. was a hardworking outdoors man who also enjoyed welding, mechanic work, and was proud to have a very big garden which produced veggies for the whole family.
Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Ellen McKinney, brothers: Marvin and Robert McKinney, sister: Barbara Ann McKinney and grandson: Christopher Rash. He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Bernadette Theriot McKinney of Dayton, sons: Curtis McKinney and wife Brinda of Humble, J.B. McKinney, Jr. and wife Melissa of Dayton, and John McKinney and wife Jessica of Dayton, daughters: Evelyn Parish and husband Brad of Tarkington Prairie and Jennifer Rash and husband Ken of Dayton, his furry children, Prissy who preceded him him death, Shania,Charlie, and Blacky, sister: Julie Aid and husband David of Nixon, sister-in-law: Sheral McKinney of Winnie, grandchildren: Shawn Parish and wife Monique, Brittany Galvan and husband Mike, Ryan Parish and wife Kassadi, Austin, Kyle, Luke, Mary, Ava, Brianna, Matthew, Allyson, Ashley, and Amber, great-grandchildren: Michael, Braden, Brycen, Madison, Tatumn, his four legged grandchildren: Daisy, Hugs, Hershey, and Spot, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
