Iris "Peggy" Butler

Iris Pearl “Peggy” Butler, age 90, of West Columbia, Brazoria County, Texas; passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. She and her husband raised their family in Cleveland, Texas where she resided until 1992. She was born in Leesville, Louisiana on May 8, 1920 to Ashley Milner and Christine Kay Rivers. Grandson, Del Butler presides over funeral services held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010, Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas with interment Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. Pallbearers include Buddy Smoot, Casey Butler, Jeff Butler, Johnny Butler, Tim Lever, Sam Butler and honorary pallbearer Shawn Butler. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Justus “Snooks” Butler. Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Butler and wife, Darlene, Johnny Butler and wife, Debbie; daughters, JoAnn Smoot and husband, Milton, Jeri Lever and husband, Alan; grandchildren, Tracy Butler, Casey Butler and wife, Lynda, Del Butler and wife, Kelly, Jeff Butler, Shannon Cahoon and husband, Clay, Johnny Butler and wife, Stephanie, Buddy Smoot, Mike Smoot, Tim Lever, Jayme Bosard and husband, Trey; great-grandchildren, Amber, Courtney, Shawn, Sam, Jacob, Jordan, Madison, great-great-grandchildren, Keeley and Lane; sisters, Billie Sue Smith, Mary Ann Bertram and husband, Emil; nieces, Merry Sue Brown , Cherry Lynn Waters; numerous other cherished family members and a host of treasured friends throughout the years.
