Huey Campbell, Sr., 85 of Dayton passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Humble, Texas. He was born October 6, 1932 in Liberty, Texas to parents, Howard Campbell and Bertha Vaughn Campbell.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. Services for Huey will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Dayton. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Huey was a lifetime resident of Dayton. He proudly served in the United States Army receiving many accommodations. He had worked for Brown and Root and Exxon Mobil. Huey was past member of the Dayton Young Farmers, an honorary member of the FFA, past member of the Elks Lodge and was well known for his welding abilities. He loved his family and enjoyed all their times together. He was definitely a people person, loving to visit with everyone, and never meeting a stranger. Huey will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Eppsie Aslee Campbell; his siblings, Bertha Lee Mott, Lester Campbell, Dewey Campbell, and Kenneth Campbell. He is survived by his children, Huey Campbell, Jr. and wife Phyllis, Paul Campbell and wife Debbie, Carrie Sheffield and husband Kevin and Susie Chessher and husband Dave; grandchildren, Courtney Luper and husband John, Whitney Campbell and fiancé Randy Harper, Kade Campbell and wife Keara, Amy Campbell and companion Charles Kaib, Marcie Howell and husband David, K.W. Sheffield, Tonya Tinney and husband Robert, Bryan Chessher and wife Shillean, Apryl Ott and husband James, Brad Chessher, Crista Adams and husband Robert; great-grandchildren, Campbell Luper, Seth Campbell, Kearsten Campbell, Ethan Campbell, Wyatt Weaver, Lindsey Tinney, Lacey Tinney, Brennan Nunan, Jacob Ott, Allison Ott, Avaree Ott, Rachel Baker, Layla Parson, Kutter Chessher, Maebry Chessher, Buddy Sanders, Kamryn Chessher, and Peightyn Adams; also his special caregiver Chattie Arceneaux.
For those who desire memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the charity of choice.
