Henry Seward Jasper, Jr., age 92 of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016. He was born September 15, 1924 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Henry Seward Jasper and Irene Agusta Thomas who preceded him in death along with his siblings, Talmadege Jasper, Russie Bagley and Willie B. Nugent.
Henry loved the outdoors and spending time fishing and hunting with his sons, grandsons and friends. He was in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Henry was a butcher for several years and then opened an insurance agency in Cleveland and continued that line of business until he retired. He lived in Cleveland for 82 years and spent the last 10 years in his hill country home in Dripping Springs, TX. Henry had a strong faith and dearly loved his Lord Jesus. He was a beloved husband and father who demonstrated the love of God to all he met. It was an honor to know him and he gave us all a great testimony and witness to a great faith in our God and Lord Jesus Christ. He was a true Christian believer and a good and faithful servant. “Well done, Henry, well done.”
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Laura Louise Jasper; sons, James Henry Jasper and wife Claudette, Glenn Martin Jasper and wife Kay, Dean Jasper and wife Lisa; sister, Sylvia Rhoden; grandchildren, Amy Parker and husband Kevin, Brent Jasper and wife Jennifer, Justin Jasper and wife Annalisa, Ryan Jasper and wife Jennifer, Lindsay Mercer and husband Alex, Geoffrey Jasper, Jonathan Jasper, Dominic Tortorice and wife Brandi, Vanessa Sliva and husband Chad; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lydia, Jackson, and Elliana Jasper; Olivia and Quinn Jasper; Alyssa, Landon, and Cade Parker; Pierce and Karli Jasper; Henry Mercer and Charlotte Mercer (arriving in January), Emma and Dominic Tortorice; Kaylie and Zack Sliva; numerous other loving and caring family members and countless friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will follow starting at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park, Cleveland, Texas.
