Henry Ray Butcher, 73, of Dayton, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Linney Cemetery in Dayton.
Henry was born May 12, 1943 in Dayton, to parents; George Butcher and Pauline Silhavy Butcher, and was a lifelong resident of Dayton. His work experience included Strickland Welding, Seaberg Rice, Dayton Muffler Shop, Coastal Water Authority, Lower Neches Valley Authority, and former manager for American Rice Growers. He also enjoyed tinkering, fishing, hunting, camping, and the outdoors.
Mr. Butcher was preceded in death by his father: George Butcher, mother: Pauline Silhavy Bailey, sisters: Evelyn Andress and Brenda Anglin, and brother-in-law: Elvin Brown. He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Redia Sparks Butcher of Dayton, daughter: Wendy Robertson and husband Rex of Montgomery, sons: George Butcher and wife Connie of Dayton and John Butcher and wife Becky of Dayton, brothers: Billy Butcher and wife Jaunelle, Gene Butcher and wife Lena, Frank Butcher and wife Gale, and Ernest Butcher and wife Darlene, sisters: Georgia Moore and husband Leo, Ernestine Fregia and husband Nathan, and Betty Brown, grandchildren: Chelsea Robertson, Chris Robertson, Courtney Butcher, Leann Butcher, and Justin Butcher, great-grandchildren: Blake, Peyton, Cody, Aryanna, Brendon, Analise, Zaelynn, Michael Wayde, Kayden, and Kamryn, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
