Henry L. Tyson, 47, of Dayton, died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Dayton with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Henry was born June 30, 1964 in Orlando, FL, to parents; George W. and Joyce E. Heaberlin Tyson, a former resident of Kississime, FL, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 40 years. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1982, veteran of the US Marine Corps, a patrol sergeant for the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, the 100 Club’s Officer of the Year for 2010, and former officer for Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 3 Harris County Constables Office. He also enjoyed collecting guns and his work. Officer Tyson is survived by his wife of 28 years: Patty Alawine Tyson of Dayton, daughters: Editha Tyson of Austin and Miranda Tyson of Dayton, son: Henry Tyson of Dayton, parents: George W. and Joyce E. Heaberlin Tyson of Dayton, sister: Bonita Merrill and husband Bill of Houston, brother: George Tyson and wife Malinda of Austin, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the 100 Club, Inc., 5555 San Felipe St Ste 520, Houston TX 77056-2733, in Henry’s name.
