Henry Eugene "Gene" Nelson

Henry Eugene �Gene’ Nelson, 63, of Dayton died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Livingston, Texas to parents William Dewey Nelson and Ruby Mae Templeton Nelson. He has lived 29 years in the Dayton area. He retired from Austin Industrial and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Gene enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Services for Gene Nelson will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, son Troy Nelson, and brothers; Sam and Autry Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Juanita Nelson of Dayton. Daughters: Carol LaFrance and husband Bill of Dayton; Julie Nelson of Dayton. Grandchildren: Nikki Juarez, Amber LaFrance, and Troy Nelson; Great grandson: Kole Matthew Juarez; brother: William Ray Nelson and wife Carolyn of Livingston; sisters: Alice Fay Baxley of Livingston, and Margaret Phillips and husband David of Livingston; also, numerous other relatives and friends.
