Helen Louise Ward Bailey

Helen Louise Ward Bailey was born October 19, 1933 in Bremond, Texas to parents, Albert Klotz and Maggie Homiack Klotz. She went to her Heavenly Home on July 2, 2022 in Kingwood, Texas at the age of 88.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Bruce R. Ward and Rolfe Bailey; sisters, Patricia and Christine. Helen is survived by her sons, Doyle Ward and wife Shirley, and Dale Ward and wife Thea; daughters Sharon Free and husband Michael; Deborah Tuttle and husband Raymond; Peggy Browning; grandchildren, Doyle and Andrew, Chrystal, Melvin and Deanne, Christian, Jason, Jerod and Laura, Raymond and Melissa, Michael and Sonja, Stephen and 16 great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces, and nephews.

Helen’s family were farming immigrants from Poland. She was second generation in her family to be born in Bremond, Texas where she lived until she moved with her family to Houston as a young girl in the mid-1940’s. She lived most of the reminder of her life in the Houston-area.

Helen was one of those people who never met a stranger and you immediately wanted to be a part of her life. Family was very important to her and loved it when the big clan was all together. It was her time to listen to all the stories of everyone’s life. She spent most of her work life in the food and hospitality industry. She was active in her community and spent many years volunteering and serving with the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 10462 where she was instrumental in bringing much needed programs to the under-served kids in the community. She was a giver.

While living with Parkinson’s Disease was difficult, she still preserved in enjoying music, family, and friends up until her final days. Even in the last days she was more worried about everybody else and wanted to make sure that others were cared for. She needed to know that everyone was OK. Everyone is OK.

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matt. 25:23

The family would like to thank those who filled her final journey with kindness, compassion, and love – Devotions Hospice Care (Pilar), RJ Home Care and her special caregivers, Etoria and Sandra. You are much appreciated and loved. And all the pray warriors who were also on this long journey with us.
