Harry Clyde Echols III passed away Dec. 13, 2017. He was born in Colorado Springs, CO on March 17, 1943 to Harry Clyde Echols II and Joan Fortier Echols. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Southerland Echols, son Josh Echols, Granddaughter Karma Echols, sister Jo Dawn Newlon, two step-brothers, Craig McCormick and Scott McCormick, and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Echols graduated from Hutchinson High, Hutchinson, KS in 1961. After earning a degree in photojournalism from University of Texas, he edited several business publications. Then he returned to school and earned a teaching degree, finding his passion for teaching high school. He taught at Nimitz, Mcullough, and The Woodlands High Schools. After retiring, he continued teaching as an adjunct professor at Lone Star College. He spent the last years of his life traveling as much as possible.
At his request, there will be no services. Those desiring may make contributions in his name to his favorite charities, The Salvation Army or the SPCA.
