Harold Glen Hughes

Harold Glen Hughes, a resident of Coldspring for the past 25 years, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the age of 81. He was born January 25, 1932 in Comanche, Texas to parents Alfie and Vera Hughes who preceded him in death along with his siblings Burton Hughes, Bernice Hughes, J.D. Hughes, and L.G. Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army. He was a pipe fabricator by trade employed by Delta Engineering. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and steadfast friend; he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Hughes; son Stephen Hughes, daughter Deborah Hughes; brother Bob Hughes; sisters Betty Kelly and Martha Jackson; grandchildren Laura Hughes and Monica Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and faithful friends. Visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2013, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas. Dr. Don M. Shannon will preside over funeral services being held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013, First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas with interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas.
