Gladys Mildred Price, 90, a longtime resident of Baytown, Texas died on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at home in Dayton.
Service for Mildred will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2016 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. until service time on Monday.
Mildred was born February 9, 1926 to Waldo Marcus Mason and Virginia Edith Boykin Mason in Quitman, Mississippi. Mildred went to school in a one room school house in the Piney Woods of the Community of Elwood. After leaving school, prior to WWII she worked as a welder at the Mobile, Alabama shipyard until the end of the war. She spent her formative years in Mississippi and her adult life in Texas. Mildred enjoyed gardening, sewing, making baby blankets, fishing, dancing and trail rides. She loved her family always putting them first and cooking wonderful meals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Opal Lucas, brother, Marcus Waldo Mason, daughters, JoAnn Williams and Janice Pileski, sons-in-law, Gene Addington and Roy Byrne, daughter-in-law, Kathy Price and great-grandsons, Chase Siebert and John Addington. She is survived by sons, Charlie Ed Price, Jr. and wife Christy, Rodney Wayne Price, Sr.; daughters, Leta Fain Addington, and Kenya Renee Byrne; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren and many more to come; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
