Gladys Christine Dabney

Gladys Christine Dabney, 103, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 in Conroe, Texas. She was born July 16, 1909 in Evergreen, Texas to Joshua Lee and Lillie K. Hoot who preceded her in death along with her loving husband Emmett Dabney; and her daughter Sandra Jane McCarty. A devoted christian, Mrs. Dabney lived life with beauty, grace, and a heart full of love. She was tender hearted,deeply devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her son John Lee Dabney and wife Wanda of Evergreen, Texas; her four grandchildren Faith Ann Evans and husband Rod of Florida; David Dabney and fiancée Michelle of Evergreen, Texas, Robert Dabney and wife Jennifer of Evergreen, Texas, Janie Hurley and husband Chris of College Station, Texas; six great-grandchildren Cory Dabney, Bryce Dabney, Megan Dabney, Emily Dabney, Jay Hurley, and Leah Hurley; one great-great-grandchild Kayden Dabney; nephews Bill Campbell and wife Debbie; two nieces Gloria Lilley and Nelda Merrick; numerous other cherished relatives and a host of faithful friends throughout the years. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas. Bro. Gary Ladner will preside over funeral services being held Sunday, January 13, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church, Evergreen, Texas with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Dabney, Robert Dabney, Cory Dabney, Chris Hurley, Ben Lilley, and Bryce Dabney.
