George Thomas Jolly, 79, of Shepherd, died Friday, October 19, 2012, at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Montague Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.George was born April 23, 1933 in Brooklyn, to parents; Clyde and Leona Meigs Jolly, a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in Shepherd for the past 33 years. He was a graduate of the Brooklyn High School, member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, a former Cleveland police officer, and a retired truck driver. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling and singing, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be remembered as a jack of all trades.Mr. Jolly was preceded in death by his parents, mother of his children: Linda Jolly, and brother: Milton Jolly. He is survived by his wife of two years: Juanita Menette Jolly of Shepherd, sons: Billy Scott and wife Amanda of Tarkington Prairie and Glenn Scott and wife Jennifer of Willis, daughter: Tina Young and husband James of Livingston, stepdaughters: Pat Wood and husband Joe of Cut N Shoot, Sandy McFadden of Conroe, Lanell Jackson and husband Danny, Sr. of Willis, and Diane Tyler and husband Jim of New Waverly, grandchildren: Tonya Struckmeyer, Brandon Richards, Garrett Richards, Lacey Berger, Josey Scott, Devin Scott, Haven Scott, Case Scott, London O'Connell, and Ashleigh O'Connell, great-grandchildren: Emilia Vega, Christopher and Kendall Williams, Hayden and Raegan Berger, and Eli Richards, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
