George Lesley Taylor, 88, of Crosby, Texas passed away Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born July 2, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Albert William Taylor and Dorris Margaret Edwards. George is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly during World War II. He called Dayton, Texas home for 15 years prior to moving to Crosby, Texas in 1998. Mr. Taylor loved spending time with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, and being outside fixing something. He had a huge heart full of love and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Elizabeth Hatina Taylor, parents, Albert and Dorris Taylor; sisters D.J. Hudson, Hylda Ahlstrom, and Alice Bergstrom, and grandchildren Maddyson Grayce, Johnathan, Rebecka, and Braydon. He is survived by his daughters Leslie Manly and husband James, Beth Christy and husband Stanley, and Amanda Trantham and husband Kenneth, sister Florence O’Connor, sister-in-law Carol Gemlick, brothers-in-law Dan Hudson, Jim Ahlstrom, and Frank E. Hatina, grandchildren Matthew Manly, Emily Patrick, Nathan Scroggins, and Baby Trantham, numerous nieces, nephews, cherished family members and treasured friends. A memorial service for Mr. Taylor will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Harvest Time Church of God, 495 S. Diamondhead Blvd., Crosby, Texas 77532.
