George Henry Meadows

George Henry Meadows passed away at home on March 3, 2023 in Cleveland, Texas.

He was born November 5, 1933 in Houston, Texas to parents, Dewey Glen Meadows and Parthenia “Pete” Carter Meadows.

He met his wife Betty Gene Alpha at Cleveland High School. They eloped and were married in Louisiana on January 23, 1954.

George worked in the insurance business for several years with Mutual of Omaha. After he left Mutual of Omaha, he was the Warehouse Manager of Distribution for TDCJ Central Unit in Sugarland for many years.

After his retirement, George and his wife Betty moved back to Cleveland to take care of his elderly stepfather. George and Betty had many friends in Cleveland and enjoyed taking cruises and traveling. They were longtime members of the First Methodist Church Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, William Murl “Perk” Perkins; his beloved wife, Betty Gene Meadows and son George Murl Meadows. He is survived by his son Bradley Meadows, daughter in law Laura and grandson George “Will” Meadows.

George and Betty will be interred together at the Cleveland Memorial Cemetery next to their son George Murl Meadows. Please remember them by making a donation to the charity of your choice.
