George Edward "Eddie" Fregia

George Edward “Eddie” Fregia, 67, of Hardin passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 in Liberty.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Batson Prairie Baptist Church. Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Batson Prairie Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton.

Eddie was born October 12, 1949 in Liberty, Texas to parents James E. Fregia and Marie Ray Fregia. He graduated from Zapata High School in 1969 and had been a lifelong resident of the Hardin Liberty area. Eddie had previously worked for Potetz Home Center in Cleveland and was a longtime roofer. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and antique cars.


Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Sorrell Fregia and brother Locke Fregia. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Denni Melancon Fregia of Hardin; son, Jamie Fregia of Devers; daughter, Vicki Tannos and husband Paul of Conroe; sister, Jackie Anderson and husband Jimmie of LaPorte; grandchildren, Hayden Fregia, Dalton Fregia, Mary Alison Tannos, Grace Tannos, and Justin Tannos; step-mother, Mae Fregia of Beaumont; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
