Geneva Ruth Partain Reidland

Geneva Ruth Partain Reidland, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, at the age of 90 in Kingwood, Texas. Surrounded by her loving family, Geneva's departure marks the end of a life well-lived and a legacy of unwavering faith and compassion.

Born on December 18, 1933, in San Gabriel, Texas, Geneva spent her formative years in Dayton, Texas. A proud graduate of Dayton High School, she was a spirited twirler and a cherished member of the community. It was in Dayton that she met her late husband, Dave Reidland. Their 40-year marriage was a testament to enduring love, and together they raised a family that reflects the values and warmth Geneva held dear.

Geneva's early professional life included roles at the Gulf Coast Electrical Company and as a funeral home receptionist. Her commitment to service extended into her personal life as well. She became a member of First Methodist Church in Dayton. Geneva began walking to church at the tender age of 9 and served as an adult by teaching Sunday School and leading the MYF youth group, and other various church ministries. Later in life she found joy in hosting and participating in local Bible studies. Her love for Jesus and others was evident in all she did.

Geneva's hobbies when she was a young mother included playing bridge and bowling. Later she enjoyed making beautiful and decorative quilts and pillows as gifts for her family. She was known for her dry sense of humor and storytelling. Her ability to weave wit into her tales and her genuine interest in others' stories made her a beloved figure among family and friends. She was open and always sharing with others her love for Jesus and how He had changed her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ira and Ruth Partain, husband Dave Reidland, brother Glen Partain, sister Jeanette Rutter, daughter Lisa Woodworth, and great-grandson Samuel Bardin. Geneva is survived by her son David Reidland and wife Lannise; daughters Kari Quinn and husband Terry, and Traci Tucker and husband Jim; sister Mary Ellen Nelson; and a large, loving family that includes her grandchildren: Nathan Quinn and wife Kate, Ashley Cox and husband Ezra, Amy Bardin and husband Kendall, Trey Tucker, Halie Satava and husband Jonathan, Reidland Tucker, Abigail Proctor and husband Kevin, Katherine Raines and husband Gavin, Caleb Woodworth, Annie Woodworth, Lauren Woodworth, Christopher Woodworth, Andrew Reidland, Jake Reidland, and Ben Reidland. Her great-grandchildren include Grace, Claire, Hannah, and Rebekah Quinn; Maddox and Brock Cox; Quinn and Everley Bardin; Tucker, Halo, and Josiah Satava; Mordecai and Naomi Proctor; and Mauri Raines.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Pallbearers include Geneva’s grandsons Nathan Quinn, Trey Tucker, Reid Tucker, Caleb Woodworth, Christopher Woodworth, Andrew Reidland, Jake Reidland, and Ben Reidland. The service will be officiated by Pastor Greg Ford.
