Gene Crossan, age 84 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018. He was born April 25, 1934 in Kingston, West Virginia to parents Phillip and Mollie Crossan who preceded him in death along with his beloved first wife, June Bowyer Crossan; and brothers, Jimmy, Hermann, Tommy, Eddie and Joe Crossan.
Mr. Crossan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and camping. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed the scenery of the West Virginia Mountains. Gene also enjoyed bowling and playing cards, but his grandkids made him the most happy. Gene served about 23 years in the Air Force and was very proud of his time spent serving our county. He went on to become a skilled carpenter who could build just about anything.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Darling Crossan; son, Jeff Crossan and wife Pam; daughters, Suzan Crossan, Kelly Elswick and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Kristen Jorgenson and husband Curtis, Cody Crossan and wife Megan, Andria Bush and husband Casey, Nicholas Carico and wife Lisa, Danielle Elswick and Jeffrey Elswick; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Jorgenson, Kaylynn Jorgenson, Coraline June Crossan, Emerson Bush, Ayla Carico and Jaxon Carico; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Coldspring United Methodist Church, Coldspring, Texas.
