Gearld Wayne Pruett

Gearld Wayne Pruett, age 77 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018. He was born December 13, 1940 in Woodford, Oklahoma to parents Acie Charles Pruett and Rosie Lee Stafford Pruett who preceded him in death along with his beloved wife of 57 years, Joyce Julaine Pruett; four sisters and five brothers; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Dagney Jordan.

Gearld was always proud of the fact that he had accomplished many things in his life with only an 8th grade education. He married the love of his life, Joyce Julaine Emmons, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on November 19, 1957. He accepted Christ at Patton Village Baptist Church, but currently a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school director. Gearld was a TV technician at Sears for 13 years, and self-employed for 40 years as a home builder and owner of a tractor sales and service business. He also had a love of antique cars and enjoyed working on them. He was well respected and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Survivors include his daughters, Melanie Darlene Carley (Darla) and husband Wayne, Melissa Renae Jordan (Lisa) and husband Robert, and Melynda Kathleen Graham (Mandy) and husband Leslie; son, Gearld Wayne Pruett, Jr. (Rusty) and wife Cathy; grandchildren, Duston Carley, David Jordan, Kassie Carley Bowen, Salina Jordan Amburn, Aaron Carley, Destiny Beeson Burton, Hunter Fitch, Layton Fitch, Devon Beeson, Braely Fitch, Drake Graham, Logan Wallingsford, and Drayton Graham; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Paige, Tristan, Emma, Jacob, Brooks, Wyatt, Nickie, Kirstan, Vanessa, Mallory, Rachel, Johnathon, Michael, and Rhys; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Services will follow starting at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Turner Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
