Gayle Sue Glenn Pfardrescher, 78, of Dayton passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Houston, Texas. She was born June 28, 1939 to parents Clayton Douglas Glenn and Bessie Weaver Varner Glenn.
Memorial Service for Gayle will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garry Masterson and Rev. W.C. Hall officiating.
Gayle attended schools in Marshall, Carthage, Galena Park and graduated in 1957 from Baytown Robert E. Lee. She later attended Lee College at the ripe old age of 50 and received her Associate Degree in the Paralegal Program. She worked for 20 years and retired from Prudential Insurance Company of America Southwest Home Office in Houston, progressing from mail clerk to Consumer Affairs. She served as Membership Secretary at the First United Methodist Church in Dayton for 15 years. Gayle also worked at Jones Library and was currently working at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Gayle and her husband Buddy worked tirelessly for 15 years in all the activities involving the Dayton Junior High and High School athletes in concession stands and fund raisers. She served on various committees, taught Sunday School at FUMC, and worked with the Society of St. Stephens. She came to love the Dayton Senior Center and the trips with the May Community Center in Huffman. Gayle loved her family, gardening, traveling, and sports. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, John Howard “Buddy” Pfardrescher, Jr., sister, Nancy Jane Glenn Wood, half-brother, Frank Glenn and daughter-in-law Judith Pfardrescher.
Gayle leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, John Howard Pfardrescher, III, Patti Hill and husband Billy, and Debra Schibetta and husband Bill; her grandchildren, Jennifer Thomas and husband James, Chris Bell and wife Ally, Susan Riley and husband John, Joey DeHart and wife Lisa, Rachel Pfardrescher, Salvatore Schibetta and wife Lauren, Nicola Schibetta, and Angelo Schibetta; great-grandchildren, Addy McCain, Tyler Thomas, D.J. McCain, Bryce DeHart, and Baylie DeHart; also other relatives and friends.
