Gary W. Holley, 70, of Kenefick, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, in Baytown.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2016, at the Kenefick Civic Center with services concluding thereafter. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Gary was born June 15, 1946 in Arcadia, Louisiana, to parents; Edwin A. Holley and Mary Lucille King, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Kenefick for the past 40 years. He was a graduate of Arcadia High School, attended Lee College, veteran of the US Army with service during Vietnam, a retired pipefitter for DuPont, and worked part time for Cooper Electric. He held memberships in the Elks Lodge where he had held the position of ER, along with many other positions and was a current board member of ESD-1. He was also a member of Kenefick Civic Center, Kenefick Smokers BBQ team, Dayton Young Farmers, and Three Mile Hunting Club, lifetime NRA, and International Chemical Workers Union Gary was a life member of the HLSR and former chief of the Kenefick Volunteer Fire Department. He was past Kenefick City CouncilmanHe also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising longhorn cattle. He truly loved his family and he was the best PawPaw hugs giver.

Mr. Holley was preceded in death by his father: Edwin A. Holley, mother: Mary Lucille King Peeples, son: Robert Nelson Holley, brothers: Walter and Waymon Holley, sister: Janice Combs, and brothers-in-law: Gene Addington, Lloyd Addington, and Tom Combs. He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Lela Addington Holley, son: Wes Holley of Kenefick, daughter: Wendy Bode and husband Rodney of Dayton, brothers-in-law: George Addington and wife Linda of Dayton and Johnny Addington of Nacogdoches, sisters-in-law: Fain Addington of Dayton, and Zo Holley of Mt. Home, Arkansas; grandchildren: Ethan Wade Holley, Nikki McMahan and husband Matt, Brittany Holcomb, and Angelica Holley, great-grandchildren: Scarlett McMahan, Calvann McMahan, and Kenzie Holcomb, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
