Freddie “Fred” Joe Rice, age 80 of Porter, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was born November 16, 1937 in Cleveland, Texas to parents Fred M. Rice and Lucille Rice who preceded him in death along with his siblings, Patsy Ann Lindley and William Andrew Rice; and grandchildren, Brandon McCullen Reaves and Kristin Michelle Kaluderovic.
Survivors include his wife, Dana Sarah Rice; daughters, Sharon Yvonne Reaves-Willey and husband Marvin, Connie Denise Mann and husband Robert, Teresa Dawn Clemons and LaNee Marie Evans; sister, Carolyn Kay Lilley; grandchildren, Bryan Reaves and wife Niki, Christopher Kaluderovic and wife Clara and Clinton Lewis Walker; great-grandchildren, McCade Reaves, Bryce Reaves, Harley Reaves and Charles Grayson Kaluderovic; a host of nieces and nephews.
Fred was a member of the Masonic Lodge and an avid gun collector. He worked law enforcement and security most of his life and served as a security officer at Insperity. He was always good at telling corny jokes to everybody’s amusement, especially his own. Fred also had a love for poetry and wrote many of his own poems, some of which he wrote for his dear wife Dana.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
