Frank Dabney Phillips

Frank Dabney Phillips, a lifelong resident of Coldspring, Texas, passed away on October 10, 2018 at age 63. He was born September 28, 1955 in Conroe, Texas to George Locke “Doc” Phillips and Bettie Christine Atkins Phillips.

In his younger years, Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman, having learned those skills in the long shadow of his great uncle, Frank Pickins Dabney, for whom he was named after. Frank’s happiest times were spent in the woods, around the campfire with family and friends. Frank enjoyed a long career in the transportation business, having worked for Servisair Cargo for 35 years before health issues forced his retirement only a few years ago.

Frank is preceded in death by his loving wife Cynthia K. Phillips, his parents George Phillips and Bettie Christine Atkins Phillips, as well as brothers John Locke Phillips, Kenneth Tanner, and his great grandson Josiah Matheny. He is survived by his daughter Leslie Marie Phillips Sharp, his sons Jacob Phillips and Kelly Kelly, his sister Cynthia Phillips Pira, his brother James Russell “Rusty” Tanner and his wife Cathie, his sister in law Deborah Tanner, his eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Coldspring, Texas.
