Frances “Aileen” Gillespie, 93, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Albuquerque. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Sinton Cemetery in Sinton, Texas. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. Aileen was born October 9, 1920 in San Benito, to parents; Homer and Irma Johnson Adams, a former resident of Kingsland, and has resided in Albuquerque for the past year. She was a graduate of Stuart High School and the Harlingen Business College, veteran of the US Navy with service during WW II. The library of the First Baptist Church of Kingsland was named after Aileen, for which she faithfully served. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, and reading. Mrs. Gillespie was preceded in death by her husband: Robert E. Gillespie, Jr., son: Lindsey F. Gillespie, father: Homer Adams, mother: Irma Johnson Adams, and brother: Glen Alvin Adams. She is survived by her daughter: JoElla Kinberger and husband Gary of New Mexico, son: Ted Joiner of Houston, sister: Leta Thomas of Bishop, grandchildren: Lauren Kinberger, Brian Joiner, and Sean Joiner, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
