Floyd Joseph Bossett, Sr.

Floyd Joseph Bossett, Sr., 71, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in The Woodlands. He was born January 5, 1946 in Beaumont to his late parents, Albert Bossett and Annie LaChapelle Bossett.

Mr. Bossett had lived in Dayton since 2007, previously lived in Houston, was a member of St. Joseph’s The Worker Catholic Church, a US Air Force veteran and was a retired warehouse stocker from Kroger after 35 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Perry Bossett.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary “Delilah” Bossett of Dayton; son, “Pee Wee” Floyd Bossett, Jr. and his wife, Felicia of Houston; daughter, Maralana Bossett and her husband, Stacey Washington of Spring; brothers, Patrick “Pearson” Babineaux and his wife, Tonya of Kansas City, Kansas and Andrew Couty, Sr. and his wife, Stephanie of Houston; special nieces, Rachelle Trahan and her husband, Papallion of Dayton and Tanganika Bossett of Houston; aunt, Audrey Bossett White of Beaumont; 8 grandchildren and numerous adopted grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017 at St. Joseph’s The Worker Catholic Church with Fr. Ryzard Zawadzki, SVD officiating. A graveside service will be held at at the Houston National VA Cemetery in Houston with military honors.
