Floyd Carter Wright, age 87, of Katy, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was born November 12, 1926, in Cleveland, Texas, to parents, Valentine Clark Wright and Daisy Dean Carter Wright, and has resided in Houston since 1947. Mr. Wright was a WWII Veteran, having honorably served in the United States Navy, 1944 to 1946. He received his BS degree from the University of Houston and was retired after more than 35 years of service with Houston Natural Gas/Enron. He was an avid University of Houston fan. He enjoyed sports and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Ima Ruth Jenkins Wright; daughter, Lynda Wright Kubin and husband, Randy Kubin; son, William Thomas Wright and wife, Laurel Tate; brother, Claude Elton Wright; granddaughters, Lindsey, Robyn, Alyssa, Amanda, and Ashley; four great-grandchildren; one nephew, and two nieces. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 03, 2014, Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E. Crockett, Cleveland, Texas, with Bro. Russell Tynan, Pastor, First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Interment will follow at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 02, 2014, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Pallbearers include Randy Kubin, Matt Mayo, Justin Richard, Bob Thornton, Bob House, and Harry Burke. Honorary pallbearers include Jay Lankford, William Wright, and Claude Wright.
