Finis C. “Shot” Stockton
1936 – 2017
Finis “Shot” Stockton was born October 22, 1936 to Myrtle and Grady Stockton, Sr. and passed away February 25, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by Nelda, his wife of fifty four years; daughters, Kathy Gray and husband Rob, and Shannon Stockton; step-daughters, Lynette York and Nelda Griffith; grandchildren, Patricia Price, Courtney Schunneman, Brenda Clay, Brett Gray, Jyn Blackstone, Holly Grindstaff, Jennifer Dudik, Colby Barksdale, Kaycie Gray and Bailey Stockton; great-grandchildren, Darrell, Dilon and Alexius Robledo, Catherine and McKenzie Grimm, Lainey Schunneman, Jaxson McMain and new baby Hosanna; brother, John Stockton; sister, Jean Butcher; sisters-in-law, Artie Coffman, Helen Stockton and Ima Jean Stockton; numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jeannette Price; brothers, Lynn Coffman, Sr., Grady Stockton and Charles Stockton.
Shot served in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962 aboard the USS Intrepid as an aircraft mechanic. His Navy years were some of the most rewarding years of his life and he loved to discuss them and show his videos.
He worked for Jestex Inc. in Houston, Texas for his brother, John for over 30 years. He was known as a hard working man and for backing large trailers in small places.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow Montague Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
