Evelyn Marie Sumrall

Evelyn Marie Sumrall was born January 26, 1947 in Sedalia, Missouri to parents, James Fredrick Johnson and Dorothy Evelyn Davis . She passed away December 6, 2024 in Porter, Texas at the age of 77 years.

Evelyn was the first lady plumber in Nacogdoches County and worked hard to provide a home and food for her children. She knew what it took to make a dollar stretch and she loved her family. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her family and everyone that knew her and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Fredrick Johnson and Dorothy Evelyn Davis; grandson, Dakota Dumas; brothers, James Johnson and Charles Johnson; niece, Lisa Johnson McClelland. 

Evelyn is survived by her beloved children, James Sumrall Sr. and wife Theresa, Carla Felder and husband Vernon, Timothy Sumrall and wife Elizabeth, and Crystal Hill and husband Jason; brothers, Edward Johnson Sr. and wife Jan, and Joey Johnson; grandchildren, Tabitha Helms, James Sumrall Jr, Candice Moser, Samantha Baxley, Kathy Dominy, Kayla Pierce, Carli Hill, Caleigh Sumrall, Marissa Fields, Kagen Hill, and Seth Sumrall; great-grandchildren, Kimberly Lloyd, Landon Morgan, Justin Morgan, Hunter Morgan, Chevy Morgan, Brentlee DeLaCruz, Elayna DeLaCruz, Kaysen Thompson, Jesse Sumrall, Cambrie Bourbon, Wesson Sumrall, Holden Sumrall, Kyle Moser, Karter Moser, Dixi Collard, Danielle Slate, Kylar Dominy, Lailoni Dominy, Sophia Dominy, Alezander Dominy, Paislee Pierce, Parker Pierce, and Koi Acosta; great-great grandchildren, Corbin Lloyd, Colson Lloyd, and Casten Lloyd. 

Evelyn was a beautiful soul inside and out, she was very forgiving and compassionate. The love she had for her family was unconditional, her family meant the most to her. Some of her favorite things were snacks and the casino, she was loved beyond measure and will be missed dearly.

 Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 11am-1:30pm. Graveside Service will begin at 2pm at Wells Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas with Vernon Felder officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be, James Sumrall Sr, James Sumrall Jr, Timothy Sumrall, Kagen Hill, Seth Sumrall, and Charles Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Morgan and Joey Johnson.
