Evelyn Sapp Savoy passed away in Houston, Texas on December 25, 2017 at 94 years of age.

Evelyn was born June 28, 1923 in DeRidder, Beauregard Parish, Louisiana to parents Lettie Hillman and James Calvin Sapp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, John Walton Savoy; her only sister, Ruth Fancher; her only brother, Priness Earl Sapp, and a granddaughter, Laura Alison Carrington.

Mrs. Savoy is survived by her children, Sheryl McCraw Broussard and husband James; John Scott McCraw and wife Jolynne; Randa McCraw Carrington; seven grandchildren, Mark Broussard, Jon Broussard, Terrell Broussard, Andrea Carrington Davis, Ashley Carrington Bruce, Brian McCraw, Jay McCraw; six great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild.

Evelyn attended the French Elementary system until age 13 when her family moved to Merryville, Louisiana where she graduated from High School. She attended Chenier’s Business College in Beaumont, Texas and worked several years for the law firm, Benkenstein, Wells and Duncan and later 14 years at Sun Oil Company. Her last working years were with Pickett Law Office in Liberty, Texas.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. for a memorial visitation at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas. Interment will follow at a later date at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, Louisiana.
