Eugene "Gene" Paul Pearl

Eugene “Gene” Pearl of Splendora, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at the age of 85. Gene was born June 5, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to parents Eugene P. Pearl, Sr. and Mary “Rachel” Pearl who preceded him in death, along with his brother, Tommy Pearl and sister, Barbara Pearl Schell.

Gene, also known as “Paw Paw Donut”, “GP”, “Mini Pearl”, “Rock Rock PawPaw” and “Dad” was a loving husband, father, and grandfather (as evidenced by the many adoring names given to him). Gene’s secret to raising a happy family was pestering Joyce, his wife of 62 years, and taking over in the kitchen. Though he worked tirelessly as an employee of Eastern Airlines for 34 years, he was sure to cook all the family holiday meals (and spent many hours shopping on QVC to find just the right kitchen gadgets to do so). After retirement, Gene’s best days were spent drinking coffee, riding his Kubota tractor, playing golf and collecting clocks. Above all, Gene’s love was his family and teasing his grandkids could be said to be his most talented sport. Gene will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Pearl; daughter, Kelli Seber and husband, Jim and daughter, Carrie Brown and husband, Chris; brother, Danny Pearl and wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Brett Fogarty and fiancé, RayAnne Shipers, C.C. Brown and wife, Lauren, Waylon Seber, Cayla Brown and CayDee Brown; great-grandchilden, Maisyn “MaiMai” Brown, Easton Brown, Brendan West, and Baylee West; numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at Pace Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas. The memorial will be officiated by Pastor Andy Cherry. A reception will follow at the Pearl residence 13783 N. Tram Rd Splendora, TX 77372.
