Ethel Fay McCoy Stubbs, 78, of Dayton, died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Heirlawn Cemetery in South Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ethel was born December 8, 1935 in Dayton, to parents; B. R. “Shorty†and Edith Jennings McCoy, and has resided in Dayton throughout her life. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School, a former caregiver in home healthcare, and former member of the Order of Eastern Star. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and baking. Mrs. Stubbs was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years: George L. “Bo†Stubbs, an infant son: Baby Boy Stubbs, father: B. R. “Shorty†McCoy, mother: Edith Jennings McCoy, brothers: Earl, Ray, Ross, and Clarence McCoy, and sisters: Ruby Calloway and Mary Mitchell. She is survived by her daughter: Fay Brown and husband Sid of Dayton, sons: Roy Stubbs and wife Sarah of Hilltop Lakes, and Benny Stubbs of Dayton, sisters-in-law: Louise Vyoral of Dayton, Lavinia Dillard of Dayton, and Pearl McCoy of Kountze, grandchildren: Tiffany and husband Tim, Brian and fiancé Brooke, Aaron, Megan, Nathan and wife Beverly, and Ashley and fiancé Joe, great-grandchildren: Shaylee, Katie, Bryce, Carson, Nikolas, Braedan, and one on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
