Ernest N. McKee passed away in Arlington, Texas on July 18, 2012. He was born in Camp Ruby, Texas on September 28, 1926; the third child of Albert Watson and Linnie K. McKee. His birth occurred while Watson was employed by the local timber company and managing the livestock and hardware duties at the Camp.
He served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII on board the U.S.S. Miami across the Pacific to the sea of Japan. He is the last of the "Greatest Generation" in our family.
Dad was preceded in death by our mother Dorothy McKee; his parents; bother Leonard McKee; and his sister Edna Earl McMillan. He is survived by all three children Rodney McKee and his wife Sharon of Kingston, Tennessee; Lee Ann Barrick of Arlington, Texas; and Joe McKee and his wife Sharon of Kosse, Texas. He is also survived and blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren scattered out in America from coast to coast.
Ernest worked all his life for Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas, an accomplishment he was always proud of.
He provided a safe and happy home for his family and taught us right from wrong and we will all miss him. See you on the other side!
