He is preceded by his brother, Vernon Young, and sisters, Hazel Watson, Ella Mae Hall, and Lois Smith. He lived in Tarkington Prairie before leaving to serve in the military and being deployed to Europe during WWII. In 1945 after the war he married Lorayne Moody and they had one daughter Sylvia. They were married for 52 years. He lived most of his life in Pasadena, Texas; where he worked for Shell Chemical Co. for 35 years. He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Ester and his son in law, Alan Ester of Magnolia, Texas; four grandchildren, Adam Ester, Angela Matthews, Blake Ester, and Lance Ester; seven great-grandsons, Taylor, Carson, Landon, Colby, Miles, Jayce, and Logan; one great-granddaughter, Paisley; and many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. They were a large part of his life. He taught many of his nieces and nephews to water ski and they all remember his boat and going to the lake in Austin. He was always glad to see friends and family come to visit. He was very close to his brothers and sisters and enjoyed many trips and vacations with them.He enjoyed boating, traveling, and spending time with his family. He lived 22 years in Evergreen, Texas after retirement and enjoyed having a farm with cows, horses and a garden. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church and helped in building Evergreen Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and spent time reading the Bible and studying. In later years he could be found typing papers on characters in the Bible. He loved to share these with his family and friends. Many words were not spelled correctly but Im sure the Lord didnt mind. At ninety he learned to use a computer and spent time looking up stuff and playing spider solitaire. He loved watching his grandsons playing in the pool or celebrating family birthdays. He loved all the Christmas decorations and going to look at Christmas lights. On Christmas Eve he would open up the Bible and read the Christmas story and give a talk and anyone there would sit and listen. As he says goodbye to a body that served him well for years and trades it for his heavenly body. He leaves a world slowly going mad and heads for his true home. As Timothy said, he fought the good fight.
