Enoch "Greg" Godfrey

Enoch 'Greg' Godfrey, 64, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Greg was born February 13, 1953 in Jasper, Alabama, to Felton and Mary Alice(McHan) Godfrey. He has resided in Dayton for the last three years, previously a resident of Houston. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War stationed in Korea. He was an Instrument Electrician Technician for Atlantic Coffee Solutions.

His family was the center of his life. He enjoyed teaching his children and then grandchildren how to hunt and fish safely. He took great pleasure in watching and cheering on his grandchildren playing their respective sports. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed drowning worms (fishing), kayaking, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. He was Mr. Fix-It, he could fix anything and everything.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents: Felton Willie Godfrey and Mary Alice McHan Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Diana Ruple Godfrey of Dayton, son: Glenn Michael Godfrey and wife Rubi of Huffman, daughter: Julie Diana Novak and husband Daniel of Huffman, sister: Carolyn Boone and husband Randy of California, grandchildren: Rylee Board, Natalie Godfrey, Garret Godfrey, Aiden Novak, Matthew Novak, Haley Novak, Haylee Board, and Kimberlee Board. Greg also leaves numerous other relatives, and friends.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
