Ennis Earl Owen, age 73, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away March 23, 2013 at his home. He was born April 06, 1939 in Bishop, Texas to parents Ennis Dueitt Owen and Annie Mae Crittenden who preceded him in death. He was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army. After graduation from Tuloso-Midway High School, Ennis joined the US Army, completing Basic Combat Training at Fort Carson, Colorado, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. He then served as a Supply Specialist at Fort Richardson, Alaska. After leaving the Army, Ennis went to work as a Computer Operator for Prudential Insurance Co., working his way up to Supervisor of the Data Processing Department. Upon retirement from Prudential, he began his second career as an independent heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) contractor. Ennis was an HVAC contractor for 27 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and steadfast friend; he will be missed by all who loved him. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years Barbara Owen, sons Robert Owen and Christopher Owen; daughter Virginia Rhine; brothers John Owen and Jim Owen; sisters Evangline Martin, Mary Byrd and Betty Owen; grandchildren Nathan Owen, Andrew Owen, Jacob Owen, Constance Guidry, Kobi Rhine, Robert Delaney, and Jeannette Delaney; great-grandchild Noah Guidry; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years. Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel. After the funeral service, everyone will dismiss and meet for graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, Martin’s Prairie Cemetery, Keith, Texas.
