Emma Jean Pittman Lockhart, 76, of Dayton, died Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Triumph Hospital East in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2011, at the Praise Tabernacle in Dayton with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the McKnight Cemetery in Cushing. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Friday, at the church. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Emma was born June 20, 1934 in Cushing, to parents; Orwin and Gertie Birdwell Pittman, a former resident of Northshore, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 20 years. She was a retired cafeteria clerk at Northshore High School in the Galena Park School District, member of the Praise Tabernacle, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Lockhart was preceded in death by her parents, husband: J. T. Lockhart, granddaughter: Billy Jo “Sally” Lockhart, and three brothers. She is survived by her sons: Thomas E. Lockhart of Dayton, Tommy Lockhart and wife Zorretta of Dayton, and Billy Lockhart and wife Valinda of Dayton, sister: Mary Louise Gresham of Hardin, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchidrlen, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
