Elmer Wayne "Red" Blevins, age 80, passed away on May 10, 2012. Red was born in Mahan, West Virginia on January 29, 1932. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Avis. He is survived by his sister Lil, brother Tommy and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Captain Red Blevins proudly served 52 years in the Houston Fire Department. During his long and stellar career he was a role model for young and old alike. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and more recently visiting the casinos. Always with a quick wit and huge smile, Red was loved by all. His generous and kind spirit will be missed. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 16, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
