Ellen Gardner Modesett

Modesett   MODESETT Ellen Gardner Modesett, age 96, of Dolen, Texas, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012. She was born in Baytown, Texas on May 6, 1915 to parents, John Celestine Sjiolander and Ellen Cecil Dahlquist who preceded her in death along with her loving husbands, Ellis Gardner and Roy Modesett; son, Wilford Gardner; brother, Ernest Sjolander; sisters, Ida Stainer, Myrtle Oates and Annie Mae Gardner. Survivors include her son Winston Gardner and wife Brenda; daughter-in-law Janice Hudman and husband Beverly; sister-in-law Lillian Sjolander; brothers Raymond Sjolander and Calvin Sjolander; grandchildren Nancy Cox (Terry), Ginger Salinas (Steve), Greg Gardner (Melinda), Gerald Gardner (Kelli), Galen Gardner (Kim) and Wiley Gardner; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Dolen neighbors and Scott House Caregivers and residents. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 24, 2012, visitation at 1:00 p.m., service at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, Baytown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3116 N. Alexander, Baytown, Texas 77520.
