Elizabeth Ola Pearl Travis

On June 3, 1938 a baby girl was born to the late Maggie (Green) Travis and Henry Travis Sr. in Coldspring, Texas. They named her Elizabeth Ola Pearl (Sweet Kate) Travis. Sweet Katie dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church by the late Pastor Adams. She attended Lincoln High School in Coldspring, Texas and furthered her education at the State School for the Special Need in Austin, Texas. Sweet Kate’s: mother (Maggie) and father (Henry Sr.) sisters Johnnie M, Dorothy, Clara, Evelyn, Ella, Marjorie, Oradell, Rosetta, and Emma; brother Whitlock (Otis) whom all preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her home going to three sisters, Mary Travis of Shepherd, Texas, Betty F. Collins and Anna Boyd both of Coldspring, Texas; two brothers Henry Travis Jr. and Bettie L. and Johnny Travis Sr. and Vicky of Coldspring, Texas; one uncle Willie Davis Bradford of Los Angeles, California; thirteen nieces, eleven nephews, twenty-nine great-nieces, twenty-six great-nephews, seventeen great-great-nieces, twenty-one great-great-nephews, one great-great-great-nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday March 13, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas.
