Elena Rodriguez Mata, 54, of Liberty died Sunday, August 5, 2012 in Humble after a tragic accident. She was born November 7, 1957 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to parents Adrian and Edifania Castro Rodriguez. She had lived in the area for over 27 years after moving from Mexico. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty.
Services for Mrs. Mata will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty with Father Sebastian Myladiyil officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Mata will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Mata is survived by her husband of 31 years, Delfino Mata of Liberty; her son, Jose Mata and wife Veronica of Humble; her daughters, Griselda Chaparro and husband Rueben of Dayton, Rosalinda Mata of Fort Worth, and Adrianna Mata of Liberty; her grandchildren, Alexandra Acosta, Javier Acosta, Jesus Acosta, Lexi Chaparro, Meily Chaparro, and Alexa Mata; her brother, Jose Luis Rodriguez of Liberty; her sisters, Olivia Rodriguez and Ernestina Rodriguez of Mexico; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
