E.J. “Frenchie” Paré, 89, of Dayton died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Houston, Texas. He was born July 10, 1921 in Bunkie, Louisiana and served during WWII in the United States Army. He had lived in Dayton since 1943, began working for General Crude and retired from Mobil Oil. Frenchie was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dayton where he served on the Bereavement Committee and was a member of the Joy Group.

Services for Mr. Paré will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Paré was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Mrs. J.M. Paré; his brothers: Harold “Red” Wilbert; and his sister; Benita. He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Frances Taber Paré of Dayton; sons: Jimmy Paré wife Cyndy of Liberty and Ronnie Paré and wife Pamela of Dayton; grandchildren: Torrie, Andrew, and Emily; great-grandson: Ryland; and sister: Glo Hooter of Louisiana; also numerous other relatives a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial be made to the First Baptist Church, Dayton.
