Edwin “Babe” Parish, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away in Humble, Texas, on October 13, 2024 at the age of 84. Babe was born to parents Travis Parish and Pauline Heath Parish in Nacogdoches, Texas on July 29, 1940.
Babe was a proud Tarkington resident, and graduate of Tarkington High School. He was a longtime employee of Jefferson Chemicals, working as a pipefitter, and was very skilled in his line of work. A dedicated outdoorsman, Babe found joy in fishing and hunting. His passion for farming was evident in the countless hours he spent cutting and baling hay and nurturing his beloved garden. When he wasn’t outdoors, Babe enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: reading, watching classic westerns, and listening to timeless country music. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Babe is preceded in death by his parents Travis and Pauline Parish; brothers, Wayne Parish and Terry Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Kathrine Parish; sons, Barry Parish and wife Jenifer, Russell Parish and husband Bill LaRock; daughter, Pamela Parish and husband George; grandchildren, Grant Parish, Travis Parish, Madeleine Parish; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th from 5pm-8pm in the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas. Babe's funeral will be held on Sunday, October 20th at 10am in the Pace-Stancil Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
Memorial donations may be made to Fairview Cemetery Association Maintenance Fund at 2752 CR 509, Nacogdoches, Texas 75961.
