Edward G. “Ed†Henk, 68, of Dayton, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Noon, Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at 2:15 p.m., Friday, at the National Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ed was born November 28, 1944 in Houston, to parents; Raymond and Minnie Copeland Henk, and a resident of Dayton for the past 36 years. He was a graduate of the C. E. King High School, attended San Jacinto Community College and the University of Houston, and was a retired supervisor for the Texas Employment Commission. He also enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Henk was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Carl and Travis Henk. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Sandra Gadus Henk, son: Edward G. Henk, II and wife Hilary, daughter: Krista L. Henk, granddaughter: Klarissa, brothers: James W., Kenneth, John, Thomas, and Ray Henk, Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
