Edward A. Bonds, 82, of Dayton, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at his residence. Private memorial services will be held in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Edward was born June 3, 1931 in Weldon, to parents; George W. and Edna Ellisor Bonds, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 15 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, a retired carpenter, and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also enjoyed horses and cars. Mr. Bonds was preceded in death by his father: George Washington Bonds, mother: Edna Ellisor Bonds, and brother: Bethel Bonds. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Phyllis Johnson McCrory of Dayton, son: Robert “Bob†McCrory and wife Elizabeth of Santa Fe, sisters: Patti Newman of Tampa, FL, Janice Pritchard and husband Pat of Ft. Worth, Barbara Stein and husband Eric of Nashville, TN, and Charlotte Baker of Houston, brother: Frank Bonds of Point Blank, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
