Edna Catherine Brown, 101, formerly of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Knopp Health and Rehabilitation in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was born June 14, 1912 in Glover, Oklahoma, to parents, Willis Andrew and Cora Lee McDonald. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Barney Jackson, daughters, Ola Erline age 3 and baby daughter Doris 4 months old, Georgia Faye Vines, second husband, of 33 years, Andrew Jackson Brown, brothers, Albert McDonald, Herschell Howard McDonald, and Vester Earl McDonald; sisters Joy Evelyn Williford and Mildred Marzelle Painter, grandchildren, Linda Day, Pamela Cain, James Richard Atwood and Tony Atwood. Survivors include her son, Andrew James Brown; daughter, Kathryn and husband E.T. Jenschke of Harper, TX; son, Andrew James Brown of Cleveland, TX; sister, Clara Sue Miller of Las Vegas Nevada; brother, Marshall McDonald of Tom, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and forty-five great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going daily to the Senior Center where she played “42†dominoes, visited with friends and encouraged others to live life fully. She was instrumental in helping form the Senior Center and was on the board of directors. She was awarded a plaque of appreciation for her service of 20 plus years. She was also very active in the Association of Retired Persons Chapter 1174 of Cleveland. She completed Bud Presley’s term as President in 1979 and was elected President of this chapter for 1980 and 1981. She also helped in founding the Interfaith Center that was organized by local churches to help those in need with clothing and food. She loved her extended family and always looked forward to the yearly reunions in Oklahoma. Edna also liked to sew and was in a crafts club in Cleveland. Her other interests were travel, country music and being with friends and family. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m., December 31, 2013 at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, TX. Pallbearers included Mike Jenschke, Scott Jenschke, Barry McDonald and Jerry McDonald.
