Edith M. Collins Sanford, 81, of Columbus, died Saturday, December 7, 2013, at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the Magnolia Park Cemetery with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Edith was born March 12, 1932 in Livingston, to parents; Thomas E. and Ebbie H. Collins, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in Columbus for the past 10 years. She was a homemaker, had attended the Church of God in Columbus and Grace Community Church in Dayton, and enjoyed painting, shopping, and antiques. Mrs. Sanford was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children: Pat Neff Willis, husband: Mervin Sanford, sister: Wilma Pursch, and brother: Dick Collins. She is survived by her son: Robert Willis and wife Debbie of Dayton, daughter: Nita Lind and husband Kraig of Columbus, brother: Donald Collins of Hull, grandchildren: James Burge, Loyd Bouton, Candace Paterson and husband George, Robert W. Willis and wife Lindsay, Kraig Lind, II, and Kime Doerk and husband Brian, great-grandchildren: Jacob Paterson, Sophia Willis, and Trett L. Willis, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer society or the Grace Community Baptist Church.
