Edith "Deanie" Coats

Edith Geraldine “Deanie” Coats, age 74 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. She was born January 27, 1943 in Coldspring, Texas to parents Cooper Lee and Eloise Allen who preceded her in death along with her brother, Richard Allen and sister, Louis Hampton

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Coats; daughter, Debra Marks and husband Eric; sons, Preston Coats and wife Regina, and Jack Wayne Coats; sisters, Bobby Wilson, Opal Abney, and Patsy Johnson; brother, Gene Allen; grandchildren, Michael Hicks, Michelle West, Justin Coats, Seth Coats, Trent Coats, Jared Kelm, Brandy Barclay, Emily Marks, and Chloe Marks; great-grandchildren, Bailee West, Matthew West, Hunter Hicks, Kaysen Quibodeaux, Kalyn Atchley, Brody Coats, Carly Jones, Kipton Coats, Jerimy Coats, Karson Kelm and Paisley Coats; numerous nieces and nephews Allen family side and Coats family side.

For four to six hours, two to three times per week Miss Phyllis Stevenson took my place as caretaker for Deanie. In addition she prepared meals for the entire week. Miss Phyllis was the glue that kept it all working for the ten months that Deanie was in hospice care.

I and all the Coats Family thank you so very much for all that you did.


Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m., - 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
