Edith Cavel Walker, age 92, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 01, 2012 in Conroe, Texas. She was born February 14, 1920 in Burkburnett, Texas to parents William Orville Gross and Willie Mae (McHam) Gross who preceded her in death along with her devoted husband G.W. Walker; sisters Nina Kiesling and Mamie Horne; brother Leonard Gross; grandchildren Kristi Walker and Mark Russell; and her great-grandchild Ethan Walker. Survivors include her children Linda Browder and husband Bob, G.A. “Buddy” Walker and wife, Susan, Randal Walker, and Weldon Walker; grandchildren Mike Russell and wife Robbin, Robbie Hawkins and husband, Derek, LeAnn Smith and husband Eric, Bridgett Dunlap and husband, Timothy, Joshua Walker and wife Brandy, Marcie Bogdon and husband, Damien, Jason Walker and wife Stephanie, Rabeca Birdwell and husband John, Matthew Walker, Nathan Walker; great-grandchildren Nick Russell wife Autumn, Jessica Weekes and husband Kevin, Jackson Hawkins, Sydney Hawkins, McKenna Smith, Stone Smith, Cody Dunlap, Kendall Dunlap, Caleb Dunlap, Zachary Walker, Alexis Walker, Terry Johnston, Cole Bogdon, Gavin Walker, Kyle Kirk, Micah Kirk, Chloe Birdwell; great-great-grandchild Emma Cavel Weekes (due September 2012); and many nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and faithful friends throughout the years. The family will received friends for visitation Thursday, May 03, 2012, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Carl Williamson will preside over funeral services being held Friday, May 04, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment at County Line Cemetery, Willis, Texas. Pallbearers include Mike Russell, Matthew Walker, Joshua Walker, Nathan Walker, Jason Walker, and Kevin Weekes.
