Eddie Doyle Murphy

Eddie Doyle Murphy, 68, of Dayton passed away May 27, 2018. He was born April 9, 1950 in Liberty, Texas to parents Walter Doyle Murphy and Opal Johnston Murphy.

Memorial service for Eddie will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Friday evening 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

Although Eddie grew up in Liberty he had been a long time resident of Dayton. He was a 1968 graduate of Liberty High School and attended Lee College. Eddie retired from Mobil as a production superintendent after 25 years and worked for Swift Energy for 5 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, catching up with old friends, and coaching his kid’s baseball teams. He also was a member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was a fan of old western movies with John Wayne.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Mary Ellen Gill Murphy and son Patrick Murphy. He is survived by his wife, Daniela Murphy of Dayton; daughter, Lori Keller and husband Tom of Round Rock; sons, Craig Murphy and wife Jessica of Navasota and Matt Murphy and wife Cristina of Crosby; grandchildren, Zachery Murphy, Kaitlyn Keller, Thomas Ryan Keller, Nikki Murphy, Landen Murphy, Dylan Murphy, Kaden Murphy, and Mary Addisen Murphy; step-daughters, Josie Young and husband Jason and Susan Sessions and husband Jason; step-grandchildren, Colt Sessions, Ronny Sessions, Jace Young, and Joslin Young; sisters, Betty Rives and Dixie Smira; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
